ASPIRE'S VISION: a community where people of all abilities live, learn, and grow together Aspire serves more than 1,000 children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families in the Chicagoland area. Through partnerships with companies such as Walgreens and OfficeMax, we are creating new, innovative enterprises that open up possibilities and support people with disabilities in achieving them. Aspire Adult Services includes community living and employment enterprises that help adults achieve new levels of independence. Aspire Kids provides pediatric therapies, family support, and educational/inclusion services to help children with disabilities build a solid foundation for future independence. Aspire CareerLink Aspire CareerLink emerged out of a partnership between OfficeMax and Aspire. Our teams jointly developed a real-world work experience to prepare adults with disabilities for high demand retail and distribution center careers. Many generous supporters such as Executive Construction Inc, tvsdesign, and their many partners helped to create an innovative training environment. Actual OfficeMax warehouse and retail equipment are used so that candidates can become comfortable with both ends of the supply chain. Upon completion of training, candidates are prepared for positions with OfficeMax and other employers. Aspire CareerLink will be used as a model for other OfficeMax locations and also for other industries to further integrate people with disabilities into the community and prepare them for meaningful careers. It’s another avenue to fulfilling our mission, and we are fortunate to have partners like OfficeMax, ECI, and tvsDesign to help us extend our reach even further into the community.
